What a trim level can do.

Seats in a Mazda 3 Sport suck for me. Because I’m 6’3” with short legs and a long torso I can’t find a good seating position in that car.

But today I delivered a Touring to a customer and it was like a completely different car. The height adjustment on the driver seat made such a huge difference that it’s back on the shortlist for the Kia’s replacement next year.

(3i touring hatch with 6-speed and sunroof for sure. In Soul Red or that dark blue.)

Height adjustment is definitely a must have for me. I like to sit low in my car on the highway and raise it a bit if I’m in the city for better overall sight.

Try to judge a car based on the trim level that has what might be essential for you, in this case a seats height adjustment. I could see how an uncomfortable seating position could make or break a car. It's not like speakers that could be upgraded down the road.

I’m 6’4” also with a proportionally long torso and I learned the same thing last week. Sat in a 2016 Golf Highline with leather seats was disappointed with the headroom (I drive a 2010 Golf 3 door) but then I sat in a GTI with cloth seats and that was much better. Even room for a helmet!

3i and 3s Touring Hatchbacks both have 6-speed manual available.

I wish the CX-5 had more adjustments - even if they’re manual - for the front passenger seat. I bought a 2016 Grand Touring and the drivers seat is great, but the front passenger seat feels like the lower seat is pitching slightly forward and I wish I could adjust it. The fact that its manual-only is also a little irritating for a $36k. vehicle.
